All About Sujud Sahwi We Need to Know ~ Hi all readers! I think all of you have heard about sujud sahwi. Or if you do not know about that, in general, the sujud sahwi is prostration that must be done by a Muslim if not doing one or several important things in prayer. The goal is so that someone can perfect his prayer without having to repeat it. Of course, as Muslims, we must know that. That's why I wrote this article. So, you have to read it to the end!

If you have understood the general explanation of sujud sahwi in the first paragraph, then surely you already understand, that a Muslim does so because there are deficiencies or some deficiencies in the prayers he has done, both in obligatory prayers, such as Fajr prayer (Subuh prayer), Dhur prayer, Asr prayer, Magrib prayer, and Isha prayer, or in the sunnah prayer (recommended prayer), such as Qabliyah prayer, Ba'diyah prayer, Dhuha prayer, Witr prayer, Tarawih prayer, Eid prayer, and so forth.

Now you may be wondering, "How do you make sujud sahwi? When does a Muslim have to do that; after greetings (salam) or before that? What should a muslim say when he does that?"

If we examine the explanation of Islamic law experts about it, then we will find an explanation that says, that sujud sahwi is done twice, like prostration in prayer. He may do that before greetings (salam) or after greetings.

Reading in Sujud Sahwi

As for what a person must say in sujud sahwi is as follows;

سُبْØَانَ Ù…َÙ†ْ Ù„َا ÙŠَÙ†َامُ ÙˆَÙ„َا ÙŠَسْÙ‡ُÙˆْ

Glory to God who does not sleep and does not forget.

One must recite the alimat read up to three times in sujud sahwi.

Now, maybe one of the annother important things about sujud sahwi that we need to know is, what are the reasons that require someone to do sujud sahwi? Of course, we should know about that, because there are indeed some things that require a Muslim to do that.

If we read the explanation of Islamic law about prayer, especially regarding sujud sahwi, then we will find, that there are three things that require someone to do that.

  • If someone has done salam before he completes the prayer.

What is meant by the first point is that if someone has not done all the things that are required in prayer, but he has already done a greeting (salam), then he must perform prostrations for sahwi to perfect these deficiencies.

  • If someone accidentally adds or subtracts the obligatory movements in prayer (salat).

What is meant by the second point is that if someone unintentionally adds or subtracts compulsory movements in prayer, such as bowing once or twice, then he must perform sujud sahwi. What you need to remember is, that there must be an element of accident in addition or subtraction. So, if someone deliberately does that, then the prayer is canceled and he has to do it again.

  • Doubt in prayer (salat).

What is meant by this third point is that if someone doubts in prayer, such as if he doubts about whether he has done bowing or has not done that, then he must perform sujud sahwi to complete prayer due to that doubt.

All Readers! That is a brief explanation of this article. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!

I think that's enough for this article. May be useful. Amen!

See you in the next article!
