Understanding Jamak Prayer | The Explanation You're Looking For
Understanding Jamak Prayer ~ Hi all readers! In this article, I will explain Jamak prayer. Do you know what Jamak prayer is? The type of this prayer is to combine two obligatory prayers into one. Understand? Not yet? Do not worry! I will explain that in a moment.
As always, before I explain the theme of this article further, I will quote one hadith that is specifically related to our discussion. Pay attention!
Hadith About Jamak Prayer
The hadith about Jamak prayer that I mean is as follows:
From Mu'adz radliyallaahu ‘anhu, he said, "We once went with the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salm in the battle of Tabuk. He performs the Dhuhr and Asr prayers simultaneously, and Maghrib prayers and Isha prayers simultaneously." The hadith is narrated by Muslim.
All readers! The above hadith is a proposition that allows us to perform Jamak prayer. Okay! Now I say, that Jamak prayer is to do two obligatory prayers simultaneously. In the hadith explained, that the Prophet Muhammad performed two compulsory prayers simultaneously.
But what we need to know is that there are some rules and certain conditions for performing this prayer. The two obligatory prayers that can be done simultaneously are as follows;
- Dhuhr prayer and Asr prayer.
- Maghrib prayer and Isha prayer.
What about Fajr prayer? There is no Jamak prayer that involves Fajr prayer, such as performing Fajr prayer with Isha' prayer or Fajr prayer with Dhuhr prayer. The reason is because of the distance between the Fajr prayer and the Isha prayer, or between the Fajr prayer and the Dhuhr prayer too far.
Thus, we also cannot combine Dhuhr prayer with Maghrib prayer, or Asr prayer with Isha prayer.
Jamak prayer performed at the beginning of time, such as performing the Dhuhr prayer and the Asr prayer, are called Jamak Taqdim prayer. Whereas if it is done at the end of time, then it is called Jamak Takhir prayer.
There are a number of rules and conditions for performing this prayer. I will explain it in the next article, Allah willing.
That is a brief explanation of Jamak prayerarticle. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
I think that is enough for this article. May be useful!
See you again in the next article!
