From Abu Hurairah (RA), he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: 'None of you should fast on Jummah unless he fasts the day before or the day after.'"

Hadith from Jabir bin Abdullah (RA)

عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ جَابِراً بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ : أنَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ. وَزَادَ مُسْلِمٌ : وَرَبُّ الْكَعْبَةِ

From Muhammad bin Abbad bin Ja'far, he said, "I once asked Jabir bin Abdullah (RA), 'Did the Prophet (SAW) prohibit fasting on Jummah?' He replied, 'Yes.' Muslim added: 'By the Lord of the Kaaba.'"

Hadith from Juwairiyah bint al-Harith (RA)

عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَهِيَ صَائِمَةٌ. فَقَالَ : أَصُمْتِ أَمْسِ ؟ قَالَتْ : لا. قَالَ : تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَصُومِي غَدًا ؟ قَالَتْ : لا. قَالَ : فَأَفْطِرِي

From Juwairiyah bint al-Harith (RA), the Prophet (SAW) visited her on Jummah while she was fasting. He asked, "Did you fast yesterday?" She replied, "No." He then asked, "Do you intend to fast tomorrow?" She replied, "No." He said, "Then break your fast."

Hadith from Abu Hurairah (RA)

عَنْ أَبِيْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُوْلُ : إِنَّ يَوْمَ الجُمُعَةِ يَوْمُ عِيْدٍ ، فَلاَ تَجْعَلُوْا يَوْمَ عِيْدِكُمْ يَوْمَ صِيَامِكُمْ ، إِلَّا أَنْ تَصُوْمُوْا قَبْلَهُ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ

From Abu Hurairah (RA), he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: 'Indeed, Jummah is a day of Eid. Do not make your Eid day a day of fasting unless you fast the day before or after it.'"
