How to Perform Janaba Bath for Females? ~ Hi all readers! Janaba or Junub is a big hadas for Muslims. That is, if they have major hadas, then they should not perform some rituals that require them to be in a holy condition. In several previous articles, I have explained a lot about it.
Now, in this article, I will explain one of the important things about the Janaba bath. This discussion is specifically related to Muslim women. One of the common questions frequently asked by Muslim women, maybe also some Muslim men, is "How to perform Janaba bath for females?". That's why I wrote this article. As Muslims, we must know that. So, you must read this article to the end!
Specifically, there are three important points about “How to perform Janaba bath for females?” which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
Meaning of Janaba Bath for Females
The first important thing about the Janaba Bath for females that I will explain in this article is the meaning of the Janaba bath for females. This explanation is very important for you to know because in some cases there are differences in how to do a janaba bath for men and women.
Before I explain more about the meaning of the Janaba bath for females, I want to remind you that the Janaba bath is an obligatory bath in Islam. It must be done by pouring holy water that can purify all over the body. The meaning is that all the skin of a Muslim who performs the Janaba bath must be watered.
In some cases, there are Muslims who have long hair. In general, they are Muslim women. As a result, they find it difficult to determine whether all the water they use to bathe Janab has reached their skin. I will explain the solution for the next discussion.
So, in general, we can conclude that the meaning of the Janaba bath for females that I mean in this article is a guide to doing the Janaba bath for females, especially for those who have long hair.
Obligations in Janaba Bath
The second important thing about “How to perform Janaba bath for females?” which I will explain in this article are the obligations in the Janaba bath. The obligations in the Janaba bath I mean in general. The point is that all Muslim women and Muslim men who perform the Janaba bath must do all of that. If they don't do that, then their Janaba bath is invalid. The result is that they are not allowed to perform some rituals that require them to be in a holy state.
If we read the Islamic legal literature on Janaba bathing, then we will find an explanation that there are two obligations in Janaba bathing:
- Niyyah for the Janaba bath.
- Pouring holy water that can purify all the skin of the body, from the scalp to the skin of the two soles of the feet.
Those are the two obligations in the Janaba bath that all Muslims must remember.
Janaba Bath for Females Who Have Long Hair
Now I will explain the third important point about “How to perform Janaba bath for females?”. Specifically, I will explain the Janaba bath for females who have long hair.
In general, all Muslims, whether they are Muslim men or Muslim women, whether they have short hair or long hair, should say niyyah for bathing in Janaba and make sure that all the water they use for bathing in Janaba has touched their skin.
But the question is how to make sure the water has touched the scalp for Muslim women and Muslim men who have long hair? Do they have to cut their hair?
There is one hadith about the Janaba bath that specifically describes it. I will quote it. Look at the hadith below!
From Umm Salamah radliyallaahu 'anhaa, she said, "I once said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed I am a woman who has very thick head hair. Do I have to pull him to take a janabah bath?” In a narration, it is stated, "And menstruation." He replied, “No! You just need to splash it with three palms of water." This hadith was narrated by Muslim.
All readers! If we read the hadith above, we will understand that what Muslim women and Muslim men have to do with long hair is to pour water over their heads with one hand and rub their hair so that they are convinced that the water they are using is to bathe Janaba had touched their scalps. So, they are not obliged to cut their hair.
All readers! That's a brief explanation of "How to perform Janaba bath for females?". Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
I think that's enough for this article. May be useful. Amen.
See you again in the next article!
