From Umar bin Khattab (radliyallahu anhu), he said, "While we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), a man dressed in white clothes and with very black hair came to us. He did not show any signs of travel, and we did not recognize him. He sat next to the Prophet and asked, 'O Muhammad, tell me about Islam. What is Islam?' The Prophet replied, 'Islam is that you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, you establish prayers, give Zakat, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj if you are able to do so.'"
