Can You Pray Janazah at Home? Read This!
Can You Pray Janazah at Home? ~ Hi all readers! In several previous articles, I have explained many things about Janazah prayer and funerals according to Islam. These are all important explanations of what Muslims should do if a Muslim dies. Now, in this article, I will explain another important point about the Janazah prayer.
I think we all know that, in general, Janazah prayer is performed in mosques. Maybe now you are wondering, "Can you pray Janazah at home?" If you don't know the answer, then you should read this article to the end. Why is that? Because that is what I will explain in this article.
Specifically, there are three important things about praying Janazah at home which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
The meaning of Janazah Prayer at Home
The first important thing about Janazah prayer at home that I will explain here is the meaning of Janazah prayer at home. I want you to understand that before I explain more on the topic of this article.
In general, what is meant by the Janazah prayer at home is to do it at home, not anywhere else. It wasn't strange, but it was unusual. Why is that? The answer is because in general the Janazah prayer is done in the mosque. (Can You Pray Janazah Twice?).
That's why there are some Muslims who ask, "Can you do the Janazah prayer at home? Is the Janazah prayer at home valid? Where can the Janazah prayer be performed? I will explain it all in the next few paragraphs.
Places for Janazah Prayer
The second important thing about Janazah prayer at home that I will explain now is the places for Janazah prayer. This explanation is very important because according to Islamic law there are several places that are not allowed to be used for prayer, including the Janazah prayer.
Actually, the explanation of the places that can be used for Janazah prayer and places that are not allowed to be used for Janazah prayer is the same as an explanation of places that can be used for prayer and places that cannot be used for regular prayers, such as prayer. obligatory (Subuh, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) and sunnah prayers (Witr, Qabliyah, Ba'diyah, and so on).
Specifically, I found two hadiths that explain what places are allowed to be used for prayer and what places are not allowed to be used for prayers, including Janazah prayer. The two hadiths I am referring to are as follows:
From Abu Sa'id al-Khudri radliyallaahu anhu, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said, "All the earth is a place of prostration except graves and bathrooms." This hadith is narrated by at-Tirmidhi.
From Ibn Umar radliyallaahu anhuma," That the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam had forbidden someone to pray in seven places; garbage dump, slaughterhouses, highways, bathrooms, camel roaring place, and above Baitullah Taala (Ka'bah). "The hadith is narrated by at-Tirmidhi.
All readers! If we have read the two hadiths above, then we will understand that all places can be used for Janazah prayer except the seven places that are forbidden to pray, as explained in the second hadith.
Legality of Janazah Prayer at Home
Now I will explain the third important point about the legality of Janazah prayer at home. Specifically, I will now give you the answer to the question, “Can you pray Janazah at home?”.
If we have understood some of the explanations above, then we can conclude that the Janazah prayer can be performed at home, but not in the bathroom and garbage dumps. Other types of prayers are also not allowed in these places. That's the answer to the question "Can you pray Janazah at home?".
All readers! That's a brief explanation of the Janazah prayer at home. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
I think that's enough for this article. May be useful. Amen.
See you again in the next article!
