Bring Allah's Name in Bathroom ~ Hi all readers! In this article, I will discuss the law carrying something that reads the name Allah Taala and the like to the bathroom in the view of Islam. As Muslims, we need to know about it, because it raises ethics as Muslims. What I mean by the word "like" is like prayer for the Prophet Muhammad, istighfar, prayer, and so on. The question is, is that okay?

As always, before I answer the question above and speak more about are we allowed to bring Allah's name in bathroom, I will quote the hadith of Prophet Muhammad.

Hadith About Bring Allah's Name in Bathroom

The hadith about bring Allah's name in bathroom that I mean is as follows:

َÙ‡ُ . Ø£َØ®ْرَجَÙ‡ُ الْØ£َرْبَعَØ©ُ

From Anas radliyallahu anhu, he said, “If the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam will enter the bathroom, then he puts down his ring.” The hadith is narrated by four people (Abu Daud, at-Tirmidzi, an-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah).

All readers! If we observe the hadith above, we will understand a number of things as follows;

  • Prophet Muhammad wears a ring.
  • In his ring the name Allah Taala is written.
  • We must keep away something in which there is the name Allah Taala and the like from unclean places.
  • When we want to defecate, we must find a safe place so that one cannot see us and hear the sound of something in it. We can use a quiet place or bathroom.

Now, if we have understood the brief explanation above, then we know that the answer to the question above is "not allowed". That is because the name Allah Taala and all the things that read it are something sacred that should not be in an unclean place. It must all be placed in holy places as a tribute to God. That's why the Prophet Muhammad took off his ring if he would enter the bathroom.

Thus, we also say words that contain the names of Allah, such as the sentence of dhikr, istighfar, prayer, and so forth. And, this includes ethics that a Muslim must consider if he wants to enter into unclean places. That is the teachings of Islam.

That's a brief explanation about are we allowed to bring Allah's name in bathroom? Do you understand? The problem is simple and the explanation that I have explained is also clear. So, I hope you understand. But if you haven't yet understood, please ask!

I think that is enough for this article! May be useful! Amen!

See you again in the next article!
