Hadith About the Recommendation of Giving Sadaqah

The first important aspect is the recommendation to give Sadaqah. Understanding this hadith is crucial before proceeding further.

Hadith:

Translation:

From Abu Said al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه), he said, "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) went to the place of prayer on Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr. After finishing, he advised the people and instructed them to give Sadaqah. He then said, 'O people, give Sadaqah!' He passed by the women and said, 'O women, give Sadaqah, for I have seen that the majority of the inhabitants of Hell are women.'"

This hadith highlights that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) strongly encouraged giving Sadaqah, especially for women.

Hadith About the Virtue of Sadaqah

The second crucial aspect is the virtue of Sadaqah. Understanding its virtues motivates us to give more generously.

Hadith:

Translation:

From Uqbah bin Amir (رضي الله عنه), he said, "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'A person will be under the shade of his Sadaqah until judgment is passed among people.'"

This hadith explains that on the Day of Judgment, Sadaqah will serve as a protection for the giver.

Hadith About Rewards for Those Who Give Sadaqah

The third important aspect is the immense rewards given to those who give Sadaqah.

Hadith:

Translation:

From Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه), he said, "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Every morning, two angels descend. One of them says, 'O Allah, reward those who give Sadaqah!' The other says, 'O Allah, destroy the wealth of those who withhold it!'"

This hadith emphasizes that those who give Sadaqah will receive divine blessings, while those who withhold it will face loss.

Hadith About Sadaqah Jariyah

The fourth and final aspect is Sadaqah Jariyah, which refers to continuous charity that benefits the giver even after death.

Hadith:

Translation:

"When a person dies, all their deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them."

Another Hadith:

Translation:

From Abu Umamah al-Bahili (رضي الله عنه), he said, "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, 'Four people will continue to receive rewards after their death: one who guards the borders in the way of Allah, one who teaches others and their good deeds continue, one who gives Sadaqah, and one who leaves behind a righteous child who prays for them.'"

Both hadiths emphasize that Sadaqah Jariyah provides ongoing rewards even after death.
